I am lost, or someone I know is lost. What do I do?

What Should I Tell Dispatch?

If you are calling to report yourself or someone else missing, remember to give the dispatch operator as much information as you can. Read below for guidance on what information would be helpful for our volunteers. 

  • Name (yourself and missing person)

  • Demographic information (gender, age)

  • Situation at hand 

  • Last known location (current location if known)

  • Medical Conditions

  • Last contact with missing person

    • when, how, and can contact still be made

  • Missing persons experience in the outdoors

  • Vehicle information

    • make, model, color, and license plate

  • What the missing person's plan/route was 

  • Contact information for both yourself and missing person for continued collaboration
